Vista House Sunrise
This photo was taken exactly 33 seconds before the sun peeked over the distant ridge. The historic Vista House is in the mid-ground. The air in the Columbia River Gorge was slightly smoky from summer wildfires on the other side of the state. But the haze gave the sky a stunningly vibrant dawn glow. Brokenness and beauty exist side by side, but “Vista House Sunrise” will always be a reminder to me of the promise of each new day.
