The Needles
Cannon Beach’s most famous sea stack may be Haystack Rock, but I find myself drawn to its lesser-known neighbor, The Needles. This particular image was taken on New Years Day, on one of the loveliest winter days I’ve experienced at the Oregon Coast. I like the light in this shot, the birds, and the crashing waves — but I’m especially struck by how very ancient these rocks look.
