Chasing Light
I heard one of my favorite National Geographic photographers, Joel Sartore, say something along these lines: "Go to where the light is and take pictures of what's there." I've thought about that advice a lot. Some evenings the light is almost irresistible. I'll hop in the car, go to where the light is, and take photos of what's there. In this case, what was *there* was a White-crowned Sparrow on a fencepost. I adore the bird, the texture in the post, and what the light is doing in the background. This was the first ever photo I had professionally printed. It’s a reminder to me, and I hope to you, to keep heading toward the light.
