Main Lenses (Landscape & Wildlife Photography)

Nikon Z 24-120

All-around Favorite

Nikon Z 24-120mm f/4 S

If I could only bring one lens with my Nikon Z7II, it would be this beauty. Versatile and incredibly sharp.

Nikon Z 14-30

Wide-Angle

Nikon Z 14-30mm f/4 S

This lens isn’t as wide or as fast as the 12-24mm f2.8, but it’s lighter, half the price, and plenty sharp.

Nikon Z 100-400

Telephoto Zoom

Nikon Z 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 S

I use this telephoto zoom for photographing wildlife and for picking out detail shots in landscapes.

Sigma 105mm

Macro Lens

Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX DG OS HSM

My next lens purchase will be the Nikon Z 105mm macro lens. Until then, I’m able to use this lens with the FTZ adapter.

Other Lenses (Video, Travel, Portraiture, and Just Walking Around )

Nikon Z DX 18-140

Pairs Great with the Zfc

Nikon Z DX 18-140mm f/3.5-6.3 VR

The Zfc and this lens may be the ultimate travel combo. Features a wide focal range (24-210mm full-frame equivalent) plus vibration reduction. I use this a lot for video too.

Nikon Z 28mm

Low-Profile Lens

Nikon Z 28mm f/2.8 (SE)

I like to throw this lens on my Zfc for a grab-and-go minimalist setup that hangs well around my neck and fits inside my coat pocket. On the Zfc’s 1.5x crop this is the full-frame equivalent to 42mm.

Nikon Z 35mm

35mm Lens

Nikon Z 35mm f/1.8 S

I use this lens on both cameras. Whether at 35mm (full-frame) or 52mm (crop-sensor), I get a classic focal range. The fast f1.8 aperture makes it a great option for street and travel photography in low light.

Nikon Z 85mm

Portrait Lens

Nikon Z 85mm f/1.8 S

A recent addition to my kit, I bought this for portraiture, newborn photos, senior portraits, events, and more. The wide aperture gives a lovely separation between the subject and the background.
