White-crowned Sparrow Singing Its Heart Out

[Click image to view in a lightbox.]

Driving along the country roads near our house, the fenceposts and hedgerows are alive with sparrows right now: Song Sparrows, Golden-crowned Sparrows, and White-crowned Sparrows like this one. No doubt I’ll be posting a few more sparrow photos over the next couple weeks. Like the Canada Goose photograph I posted a few days ago, this shot gives us an unusually intimate look at the inside of a bird’s mouth.
